So crazy how much the light transforms this building. Balboa Park just finished a $26.5 million renovation and it’s completely gorgeous. Such a great place for portraits!

I had recommended to a client that we do a session here, but wasn’t sure what time of day would be best for photos, so I checked it out.

I got there around 9:30am and there was still lots of haze/fog that produced a neutral diffused light on the south-facing side of the building. Within an hour, the fog had all but burned off and the sun was full-on. It completely transformed the building and the vibe!
